Dear Brothers & Sisters,

There will be a Special Meeting of Local 56 on October 25th at the Hibernian Hall, 5:30PM. The address is 27 Locust Ave in Babylon (1 block north of Babylon station). This meeting is for the purpose of electing local officers for the next three year term.

A majority of votes cast shall be required to be elected to all offices on the ballot. Where there are more than two candidates for the same office and none of them have received a majority of votes cast, a secret ballot will be promptly issued with the names of the two candidates who received the highest number of votes cast in the first ballot, and the candidate receiving the majority of votes cast in the second ballot will be elected. Where there are three or more nominees for a position, the member may choose to mark his ballot in preferential number order to be used in the case of a tie or run-off.

Clearly mark “X” to the right of the candidate you are voting for in the space provided. Only ballots with the Local 56 raised seal will be valid. If you need a replacement ballot you may contact the Recording Secretary for a new one with the raised seal. You may vote by mail or in person on date. For those voting by mail, the approved method by the BRS Constitution is known as the Australian ballot method. You must mark your ballot and enclose it in the small plain white envelope, and that is placed inside the envelope with your return address.
